Abstract. The author analyzes the correlation of internal and external factors in the process of "Islamization" in Sudan in the 1970-1980s – the gradual transformation of Sudan from a secular state to "Islamic" one, considers the process of "Islamization" in Sudan as a part of the broader trend of strengthening the Islamic factor role in the political life of the countries of the Middle East and North Africa during this period, and also analyzes the influence of the Islamic banking system and charitable organizations on the process of "Islamization" in the country.
