Abstract. The author analyzes such phenomenon of modern society as mass culture from the perspective of axiology, pays special attention to the revelation of the phenomenon essence, and also the main value of the analyzed culture, namely socially marked consumption; presents her own definition of such notions as value and mass culture, and in addition comes to the conclusion about the prospects of mass culture development at the present stage of its existence.
