SMALL STREETS EXISTENCE FEATURES IN RUSSIA HISTORIC CITIES

Abstract. The author describes the unique and typical features of small streets, basing on statistical analysis shows that small streets are prevalent in the street network of the Russian historic cities, tells that the toponymy of small streets is a significant culturological resource, and concludes that small streets occupy an intermediate niche in the city cultural system.
