Abstract. The author presents the understanding of youth political practices associated with the institutional component of the political process in modern Russia. Youth is the only resource of innovative society. It actively looks for itself in politics, participating in political practices, such as electoral and also new ones - participation in youth parliaments work, youth forums and so on. The Russian youth is represented in two aspects: either it confidently asserts itself in political process, or sticks to political absenteeism.
