CONCEPTION OF RATIONAL ACTION BY MAX WEBER AND CONTEMPORARY ECONOMIC SOCIOLOGY

Abstract. The author analyzes the common features of Weber’s theory of action and one of the representative directions of contemporary economic sociology – "rational choice theory", which explicitly and implicitly refer to the works of the German classic, critically researches the selective interpretation of Weber’s research programme in economic sociology, comes to the conclusion about the necessity of the reference to the dual conception of economic action rationality within the framework of the logical-situational analysis of economic action, and basing on economic sociologists’ representative texts undertakes an attempt to reveal and substantiate the high analytical potential of Weber’s economic sociology.
