BILATERAL CONNECTION FORMATION IN PROVINCIAL PRINTED MASS MEDIA OF PRE-REVOLUTIONARY RUSSIA (BY EXAMPLE OF TAMBOV PROVINCE NEWSPAPERS)

Abstract. The author pays special attention to the origin of such integral part of modern mass media as interactivity, its gradual development in pre-revolutionary provincial printed mass media, as well as the connection with the basic functions of mass media singled out later by the theorists of journalism, and aims to make an overview of Tambov province newspapers and to trace how the communication between editors and readers changed during the period from 1838 till 1917.
