Abstract. The author considers the interaction between soviet public prosecutor’s office and citizens during the difficult period of the 20-30s of the XX th century, emphasizes that during that period public prosecutor’s office was focused at workers’ rights and interests ensuring, and tells that the broad involvement of citizens to public prosecutor’s supervision was seen as one of the ways to make it more effective, but turned out to be unsuccessful because it contradicted the social-political processes that took place in the country during that period.
