MUSICAL CODE OF SARATOV WEDDING CEREMONY (BY EXAMPLE OF SONGS FROM NORTH ZONE OF VOLGA REGION UPLAND)

Abstract. The article considers the wedding songs of Saratov region by the example of the villages of Khvalynsk and Bazarny-Karabulak districts (the borderzone of Middle and Lower Volga) in the context of repetitive tunes-formulas. Novelty is in the author’s approach to the analysis of song musical material from several positions: micro-local (level within the framework of the village) and global (the spread of tunes within settlements), which increases the topicality of the perspective of the article, and is conditioned by the insufficient development of the problem in the context of the regional wedding tradition research.
