PHILOSOPHY OF MIND IN EUROPEAN THINKERS’ GENDER STUDIES

Abstract. The article analyzes the basic conceptions in philosophy of mind (rationalism), which laid the methodological foundations of contemporary gender studies, as well as the contribution of the European philosophers to the understanding of gender problems, which resolution opens up possibilities for the extension of the universal social and cultural self-realization potential of women and men’s personal abilities. Special attention is paid to revealing the elements of androgyny in the philosophical rationalism of the XIX th century, and to the recognition of the dynamics of femininity and masculinity social and cultural values in accordance with society development.
