DEVELOPMENT OF PRE-SOCRATIC NATURAL PHILOSOPHY IN "CORPUS OF HIPPOCRATES"

Abstract. The article is devoted to a topical issue – the estimation of pre-Hippocratic natural philosophical systems significance for medicine development. This process was based on two main directions – Hippocrates’s practical line in medicine, on the one hand, and the rationalist reform of Socrates and Plato’s philosophy – on the other. Finally the authors conclude that Eleatic natural philosophy and monism that opposed it were rejected and lost their significance in the IV th century BC.
