INTELLECTUAL ELITE OF RUSSIA: IDENTIFICATION AND IDENTITY PROBLEM

Abstract. The article discloses the "intellectual elite" notion specificity, which has various sense and contextual content in different countries, among different peoples and within different cultures in different historical periods. In modern Russia the phenomenon of intellectual elite acquires its special meaning containing both the individual-specific features of its representatives and general intellectual environment, which, in its turn, is a part of large socio-cultural organism. The thesis, according to which the genetic link of culture and society stimulates the genesis processes of the Russian intellectual elite and its further position in culture and society, is put forward and argued.
