FEATURES OF RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH MISSION WITHIN TRANSBAIKAL TERRITORY AT THE END OF THE XIX TH – THE BEGINNING OF THE XX TH CENTURY

Abstract. The article reveals the content of the Russian Orthodox Church mission within Transbaikal territory at the end of the XIX th – the beginning of the XX th century. The author considers and elaborates on those basic directions and aspects of the Orthodox Church mission, which had the greatest impact on the spread of Orthodoxy among the Transbaikal Buryats: the organization and activity of religious missions, missionary camps, the methods, means and ways of local population Christianization, and the results of this activity.
