Abstract. The article is devoted to programme nature phenomenon in concerts. The features of programme concert genre both in academic and popular-instrumental culture are substantiated and described. The main stages in the formation of special thinking in instrumental concerts related to programme nature are revealed. The tendency to programme nature finds itself with particular intensity in the concerts of folk-instrumental sphere in the last decades of the XX ^th and the first decade of the XXI ^st century. The article material may be in demand for training courses in the history and theory of domestic music.
