LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT IN MUNICIPAL REGIONS OF RUSSIA: SYNTHESIS OF TRADITIONS AND DEMOCRATIC INNOVATIONS

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the modern state of local self-government at the level of municipal regions of Russia. Particular attention is paid to the idea of ??the continuity of local self-government system of the soviet period of the Russian history and the modern system of local self-government at this administrative level. The author comes to the conclusion about the objectivity of municipal regions level transformation into the single vertical of public administration.
