Abstract. The article presents the authorial definition of ordinary consciousness as consciousness formed in the course of daily life basing on life experience and common sense that organizes reality around the person. In this context the importance of reference to gender values, influencing modern ordinary consciousness, is mentioned. The authors substantiate the thesis that gender differences play the dominant role in the development of ordinary consciousness.
