HISTORY OF THE 1 ST VLADIKAVKAZ COSSACK REGIMENT ORIGIN

Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the Little Russian Cossack regiments quartering in the Central Caucasus and Vladikavkaz Cossack regiment creation on their basis in the second third of the XIX th century. The reasons of Cossack settlements appearance along the Georgian Military Road are considered. The purpose of this article is the analysis of the military command measures on ensuring the security of the North Caucasus and free passage to the Trans-Caucasian region. The author comes to the conclusion about the success of the project on the 1 st Vladikavkaz Cossack regiment creation.
