Abstract. The ideas of the British public about the Far Eastern events of 1904-1905 are considered through the lenses of the satirical magazine "Punch". "Punch", unconventionally covering international events, formed not only the overall picture of the battleground, but also the attitude of the British to the warring parties. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the illustrated articles (caricatures) of the magazine, in which contradictions between the states in the Far East were most fully represented.
