Abstract. The article analyzes the state of Tobol'sk province authorities and court in the first half of the XIX th century. Basing on the materials of gubernatorial inspections and the audits of judicial and administrative instances activity, the shortcomings of district and town establishments records management are mentioned, and the reasons of these shortcomings are determined. The state of financial documentation is analyzed. The description of provincial administrative and judicial institutions staff composition is given.
