Abstract. The article calls readers’ attention to the interpretation of media-reality as a type of virtual reality, along with artistic, game and computer ones. The author presents his own model of human immersion into media-reality basing on the specific attribute of the media-image – the ability to substitute reality. The article considers the basic properties of media-reality, postulates the thesis that modern media hinder the cognition of objective reality.
