Abstract. The article is devoted to domestic animals cult in the traditional beliefs of the Karachais, Balkars, Kumyks and Nogays. The author draws attention to special attitude, typical of the Turkic-speaking peoples of the North Caucasus, to those animals that played a crucial role in their economy. The stock-raising mode of economy was represented in spiritual culture, more precisely, in religious beliefs. The author comes to the conclusion that the traces of domestic animals worship even today remain in the traditional beliefs and epic tradition of the Turkic-speaking peoples of the Northern Caucasus.
