PROVINCIAL URBAN ENVIRONMENT PHENOMENON IN SYSTEM OF SOCIAL-CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF NORTH-WEST REGION OF RUSSIA IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX TH – THE XX TH CENTURY

Abstract. The article presents the author’s social-philosophical view on the issues of the Russian towns social and cultural space transformation in the XIX th-XX th centuries. The complex of philosophical and historical-cultural methods allowed conducting the analysis of everyday life problems in the process of modernization in the provincial towns of the North-West region of Russia. The dynamics of urban life changes in past centuries is revealed, and the specificity of the provincial environment phenomenon of the Northern towns of Russia is determined.
