Abstract. Within the framework of this article the authors undertake an attempt to study the problem of officers’ "civilian" career as party and soviet heads of towns and districts of Molotov region during the late Stalinism period, immediately after the demobilization from the Workers and Peasants’ Red Army in 1945-1947. The correlative dependence of high-ranking officials’ career trajectory on a number of social-demographic and professional characteristics is analyzed.
