FINANCIAL POSITION OF ORTHODOX PARISHES STAFF IN MIDDLE URAL REGION DURING 1965-1988

Abstract. The article reveals the level of the labour remuneration (taking into account taxes) of all the categories of Orthodox organizations staff in Middle Ural region during the period of 1965-1988, and compares it with the level of labour remuneration in soviet establishments. Moreover, the significance of churches workers’ financial well-being in the context of attracting citizens to church positions is shown. The results of the research suggest that financial gain, especially in economically large and medium-sized parishes, was not alien to their staff, which could not but arouse the indignation of the faithful.
