RURAL CORRESPONDENTS’ ACTIVITY IN WEST REGION OF RUSSIA IN THE 1920S

Abstract. The article determines the factors that contributed to activating the interest of the peasantry to mass media. The author comes to the conclusion that rural correspondents’ desire to objectively cover village life events was caused mostly by shortcomings in the work of the soviet government bodies at different levels, and suggests using materials on rural correspondents’ activity in the study of the regional history of New Economic Policy period.
