Abstract. The author researches one of the basic social-economic rights - the right to housing, reveals the features of its consolidation in international legal acts, as well as in the constitutions of a number of foreign countries, and singles out two main approaches to the regulation of the right to housing: its direct consolidation at the constitutional level, or inclusion as a constructive element of the right to the adequate standard of living, broader in content.
