BASIC ASPECTS OF FUNCTIONAL-SPATIAL ORGANIZATION OF SQUARES IN SIBERIA CITIES (THE BEGINNING – THE MIDDLE OF THE XX TH CENTURY)

Abstract. The author traces the processes of replacing the architectural and cultural values ??of space in the Siberian region, beginning with the revolutionary-military shock of the 1920s, tells that during that period cult buildings and previous symbols disappeared, which were the dominants of the historically formed architectural ensembles and squares of Siberia cities (Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Omsk, Barnaul), reveals the basic aspects of the functional-spatial organization of the squares in the Siberian cities (the beginning – the middle of the ХХ th century), and analyzes the changes in the plan structures of the architecture and sizes of the squares.
