Abstract. The author reveals the mental characteristics of the Russian culture, considers the phenomenon of anniversary as a converted form of mentality matrix structure reflecting the interaction of nature and culture, and shows the dynamics of mentality as the interaction between the historical origin in the phenomenon of anniversary associated with "magic of numbers" and the structural component fixing the feature of existence in the contemporary Russian culture – "high" imposture.
