Abstract. The author presents the culturological interpretation of the notion meon (thing not in existence) in the discourse of Russian avant-gardists' creativity, analyzes the concept creation from nothing (creatio ex nihilo) with respect to avant-garde art, considers the new contexts of the Silver Age cultural crisis, gives the additional substantiation of the cultural-philosophical understanding of the meonic freedom of creativity by N. A. Berdyaev correlated with the initial creative intuition of avant-garde basing on the result of the conducted analysis of the works of one of the Union of Real Art group members K. Vaginov, and determines the vectors of understanding the notion meon in the Russian avant-garde artistic world.
