Abstract. The authors present the culturological interpretation of electric light motive in Russian avant-gardists' creativity, analyze the semantic features of light image in the context of cultural crisis and the latest scientific-technical discoveries of the beginning of the ХХth century, consider the specificity of the opposition natural, genuine - artificial, apparent in the experimental images of avant-garde works, and determine the vectors of electric power motive understanding in the artistic world of Russian avant-garde.
