Abstract. The author considers the influence of traditional nomadic and semi-nomadic cattle breeding sectors on the economic and social development of the Kazakh society in the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth century, and shows the features of deformation processes associated with the gradual transition of the Kazakh population from nomadic to settled way of life.
