MILITARY CAMPAIGNS OF ULUS JOCHI (HORDE) AGAINST RUSSIAN POPULATION AS ARGUMENT FOR HORDE-RUSSIAN STATE UNITY

Abstract. The author studies Horde military campaigns against Russian population in the context of the analysis of the Russian-Horde relations concerning Russian lands allegiance to Horde (Ulus Jochi), and determines whether these campaigns were the acts of Ulus Jochi and Russian principalities state connections, the acts of state public compulsion, which revealed Russian nationals' insubordination to public power in the name of Khan, with the army use as the means of subordination restoration, or whether they were predatory campaigns common to nomadic peoples in their need of the products of agriculture and especially craft?
