COMMANDEERING OF ZACATECAS: MILITARY-TECHNICAL ASPECT

Abstract. The authors consider the commandeering of the Mexican gunboat Zacatecas (in the nationalists navy - Calvo Sotelo) by the nationalists government, show that the Spanish had all the possibilities to equip the ship in the shortest possible time, mention that despite the fact that nationalists had the deficit of ship contingent, they intentionally delayed the process of Zacatecas fitting-out up to 1938, and come to the conclusion that financial pressure on the central government and the unwillingness to aggravate relations with Mexico could become the probable aim of such actions.
