COMMUNIST UNIVERSITIES FOR NATIONAL MINORITIES IN SOVIET RUSSIA: THE 1920-1930S

Abstract. The authors describe the history of the creation and functioning of higher educational institutions for national minorities that existed in the 1920-1930s: Communist University of Workers of the East, Communist University of National Minorities of the West and Communist University of Workers of China; analyze the reasons and preconditions of their origin, their distinctive features, consider the aims and purposes, structure, curriculum, student and academic staff of these universities, and use archival documents not previously introduced into scientific circulation.
