Abstract. The author considers the activity effectiveness of agricultural scientific-research organizations and institutions within Ural region during the period of the socialist transformation of economy agrarian sector, and basing on archival and statistical data for the first time introduced into scientific circulation studies both positive and negative aspects of experimental agricultural stations, scientific-research institutes, universities work in crop yield increasing, more efficient use of fertilizers, selection work and rational land use.
