SURVIVAL STRATEGIES OF SCIENTISTS DURING CRITICAL EPOCH (BY THE EXAMPLE OF DESCENDANTS OF RUSSIAN HISTORICAL SCHOOL)

Abstract. Basing on the complex review of published and archival sources introduced into scientific circulation for the first time the author considers the survival strategies of Russian Historical School representatives' followers under the conditions of changing social-political system and social-cultural progress caused by the events of October 1917: failed attempt to save liberal traditions, emigration, recession of scientific activity, conformist acceptance of Marxist methodology, which, however, did not guarantee successful academic career.
