Abstract. The author considers the theoretical aspects of modern sport features expressed in the content and function mixture of previously traditionally differentiated spheres of physical activity, as well as its potential as specific social-cultural practice that meets the requirements of different target groups, and pays special attention to the variety of sport functions that form the prerequisites for productive strategies creation for comfortable existence in the conditions of globalizing socium.
