Abstract. The author covers the changes that historical thought has undergone during the XXth - the beginning of the XXIst century, in particular analyzes the problems of historical science objectivity and credibility, as well as the role of historian's personality in historical knowledge in the context of constructivism ideas and post art nouveau philosophy, considers the influence of Annals school on historiography development, and gives the interpretations of the notions historical anthropology, linguistic turn, post art nouveau challenge from the perspective of modern historiography, history theory and methodology.
