IRKUTSK MERCHANTRY PARTICIPATION IN CITY ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTER FORMATION IN THE XVIIITH - THE FIRST HALF OF THE ХIХTHCENTURY

Abstract. The author discusses Irkutsk architectural image formation in the XVIIIth - the first half of the ХIХth century, reveals the main tendencies and factors in architecture and city planning development, mentions its role as the administrative and commercial center of the district, pays special attention to the city trade infrastructure and business centers formation, emphasizes Irkutsk merchantry active participation in the city space development and housing construction, and shows that by means of merchantry efforts Irkutsk spatial environment and housing development attained regular and planned nature.
