PROTEST MOVEMENT EVOLUTION IN REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN: 2005-2011

Abstract. The author describes protest movement evolution in Tatarstan in 2005-2011: from separate actions that had local and non-political purposes it gradually moved to larger-scale actions of spring 2011, which still had non-political nature, and from them - to mass protests against election fraud in December 2011; and also determines the general features of the meetings in Moscow and Kazan' in December 2011.
