Abstract. The author analyzes the notion of evil in Kant's philosophy. The German thinker believes that every person is initially inclined to accept evil by his nature. Kant finds the main reason of evil in such disposition to it, which is inherent in every man as the free subject of all moral evil maxims. This freedom expresses the highest human nature that is determined by such activity of our practical mind, in accordance with which we choose for ourselves the universal law of kindness or evil maxims opposed to it.
