Abstract. Basing on comparative method the author analyzes the humanistic views of M. K. Gandhi and J. Nehru, which formed the basis not only for Indian philosophy, but also for the world philosophical thought, reveals these thinkers' social-philosophical ideas, determines common and distinctive points in their interpretation of humanism idea, and shows the significance of these philosophers-humanists' heritage for the further spiritual development of mankind.
