BALKAN POLICY OF RUSSIA AND PAN-SLAVISM IN THE 80S OF THE XIXTH - THE BEGINNING OF THE XXTH CENTURY

Abstract. The author analyzes the interrelation between Russian foreign policy in Balkans and Russian Pan-Slavism evolution in the 80s of the XIXth - the beginning of the XXth century, reveals the main aspects of Pan-Slavic theories, as well as the mechanisms of Slavic idea implementation as a kind of the substantiation of Russian geopolitical claims in the Middle East, and pays particular attention to the means of strengthening political, cultural and economic influence of Russia on Slavic region (convocations of all-Slavic congresses, attempts of Russian language and literature confirmation as common Slavic, the projects development of All-Slavic Customs Union, All-Slavic Bank, etc.).
