TRADITION, MYTH AND SYMBOL ROLE IN SOCIAL MEMORY TRANSFER

Abstract. The author shows tradition, myth and symbol role in social memory transfer, substantiates the position that tradition, myth and symbol are not capable to transfer social memory to the full extent, and shows that they transmit some forms of its existence: tradition and myth transfer historical memory and symbol transfers the cultural one; tradition profanity and myth obligatory nature limit their abilities to transfer social memory content, the fragmented character of memory transmission by symbol limits its possibilities in this process.
