NATIVE ANIMALISTIC ART FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE XVIIITH-XXTH CENTURIES: QUESTIONS OF GENRE

Abstract. The author reveals the picture of animalistic art development in Russia of the XVIIIth-XXth centuries, its position in a number of other art genres, determines animalistics origins in the XVIIIth century marked by the appearance of an animal image in painting, especially among foreign masters, considers an animalistic image in different kinds of the graphic painting of the XIXth-XXth centuries, its development features during this period, and follows major stylistic trends typical of sculpture, and animalistics interrelation with Russian culture traditions.
