SPECIALIST'S CULTUROLOGICAL TRAINING: DOES HE NEED REGIONAL STUDIES COMPETENCE?

Abstract. The author presents the brief analysis of the conceptual foundations of regional studies education, its philosophical-cultural substantiation and authorial approaches to the implementation of the new scientific-educational direction Regional studies education in a specialist's culturological training stated in the analyzed monograph of Doctor in Culturology, Professor G. P. Pirozhkov. The review allows to conclude that developed by the scientist regional studies theoretical conception as a social-cultural phenomenon is embodied in the applied models, programs and technologies of regional studies activity, regional studies training. The conceptual foundations of regional studies education model are professionally written into culturology research field and in a specialist's training system of higher educational institutions of different profiles. G. P. Pirozhkov suggests the forms and ways of regional studies influence on regional studies education optimization improving its quality and ensuring continuity and mass character, and presents the results of new authorial pedagogical technologies approbation, teaching and adapting techniques.
