Abstract. The author discusses the liberal version of civil society in terms of neonominalistic philosophical tradition, analyzes the features of the interaction between state and civil society, reveals civil society as social interaction sphere, which is independent from state, but is under its direct control, and considers liberal legal state as the complex of institutions which primary function is to maintain social order and civil liberty.
