KALUGA ZEMSTVO ACTIVITY DURING FIRST WORLD WAR

Abstract. The author discusses the main directions of zemstvo activity during the First World War - the organization of assistance for sick and wounded soldiers and their families, and war invalids, orphans and refugees' charity by the materials of Kaluga province; studies the stories about food problem solution by zemstvos at local level, about the assistance for the army in the field with munitions and supply during the period preceding the revolution of February 1917.
