STRATEGIC CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT WAR PLAN MEMORANDUM OF OCTOBER 1, 1876

Abstract. The author considers the Minister of War D. A. Milyutin's activity on the military-strategic plan preparation for the war with Turkey of October 1, 1876; introduces a new document into scientific circulation, which is the important source for the study of the Russian-Turkish war history of 1877-1878, simultaneously shows the state of the military-scientific thought in Russia in the second half of the XIXth century, pays special attention to the analysis and evaluation of the strategic plan content and in addition reveals the work of the Eastern question meeting during the period of the Balkan crisis.
