POSTMODERNISM: PHILOSOPHY OF CRISIS AND CRISIS OF PHILOSOPHY

Abstract. The author tries to comprehend postmodernist conceptions influence on modern social science, and believes that social philosophy, like the whole social science, is currently in the state of crisis. One of the most publicized, competing directions, each of which is based on its own vision of social reality, is postmodernism. The latter not only reflects modern society crisis but acts as a symptom of this crisis. At present, without suggesting any positive solutions and programs, it is one of the main intellectual sources of agnosticism in social sciences.
