Abstract. The author researches the questions of Stolypin agrarian reform implementation in Chuvashia and the problems encountered in the Chuvash village in the course of communal land consolidation in private ownership, shows the Chuvash peasants’ protest moods in 1913, which lead to social conflict, in which the peasants of Shumatovo community of Kazan province suffered, adds that the active participants of the rebellion were sentenced to criminal liability, and analyzing the events comes to the conclusion that the peasants’ scarce ideas about the essence of the reform led to tragic consequences in the Chuvash village.
